About
Rockport Branch serves the Bellaire-Puritas area of the west side of Cleveland and is one of the busiest branches in the Cleveland Public Library system. This branch offers free wifi and public computers with Internet access. Printing, copying, scanning, and faxing services are available for a fee. Free parking is available.
History & Architecture
Rockport opened in 1964 and features 9,200 square feet. The building was designed by the architects Hargett-Hoag Associates. The branch is composed of brick and stone with a steel structure. A large picture window dominates the front façade.
Best Buy Teen Tech Center
The Rockport Branch is the site of the Best Buy Teen Tech Center, an interactive, state-of-the-art learning center for teenagers. Cleveland Public Library was awarded a grant for this special project in 2017, and the Teen Tech Center opened in fall 2018. This new center complements the Library’s ongoing work with digital literacy, hands-on learning, STEM education, and civic engagement.

Career Pathways for Teens – The Art of Entrepreneurship
Rockport Thursday, October 19 | 4:30 pmYouth ages 15*-18 will design and create their own jewelry, t-shirts, and prints in the Best Buy Teen Tech Center using industry-grade technologies including 3D printers, laser-cutter engravers, Canon DSLR cameras, and Adobe Creative Suite. Participants will also develop a business model and marketing plan for their creative works.
This 4-week program is the first learning cycle of the Best Buy Teen Tech Center Career Pathways Program. Teens enrolling in this program are expected to participate in at least one additional learning cycle during the 2023-2024 school year. Each learning cycle will include a stipend for youth who successfully complete the curriculum. Opportunities for paid summer internships are available to those who complete at least two cycles.
*Participants must turn 16 by the start of summer internships or July 1, 2024.
