Let’s Play, Cleveland! Cleveland Public Library Hosts Gaming Tournament during NBA All-Star Game Week

Put your game face on and join Cleveland Public Library for the CPL Play League from Monday, February 14 – Saturday, February 19. We’re hosting a week-long gaming tournament at select neighborhood branches with a culminating event at Main Library.

The CPL Play League is the first major games culture and competitive gaming league at a public library. “CPL Play exposes people to everything from new video games to board games. It also offers a competitive gaming experience for those who love a challenge,” said Tristan Wheeler, Project Coordinator and organizer of CPL Play at Cleveland Public Library.

The inaugural CPL Play League season will kick off with two popular games, NBA 2K22 and The King of Fighters XV. “Everyone is invited no matter your gaming level or knowledge,” adds Wheeler. Gamers can register now to compete at one of our five select neighborhood branches to qualify for a final showdown and prizes from the CAVS Legion GC and SNK Japan on Saturday, February 19 at Main Library. The finale will be live-streamed on Twitch.tv.Gamers will also learn tips and tricks from the Cavs Legion Gaming Club, the Cleveland Cavaliers organization’s esports team.
