Cleveland Public Library is pleased to announce that library services at Langston Hughes Branch will resume when the branch reopens to the public on Friday, October 19, 2018. Langston Hughes Branch closed for repairs on September 17, 2018 as part of a larger capital improvement project, which will help ensure Cleveland Public Library can best serve community members well into the future.
Patrons and community members are invited to attend a reception at Langston Hughes Branch on Saturday, October 27 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. to enjoy entertainment and refreshments in celebration of the branch’s reopening.
Completed repairs to Langston Hughes Branch include:

- Improved signage
- Access ramps
- Drinking fountain
- Roof repairs
- HVAC updates
- Heating system
- Water heater
- Electrical circuitry updates
While Langston Hughes Branch was closed, the nearby Hough, Glenville, and Martin Luther King, Jr. branch libraries served patrons.
