Harvard-Lee Branch Reopens June 14, Community Celebration June 16

Brick buildingCleveland Public Library is excited to announce that the Harvard-Lee Branch will reopen to library patrons on Thursday, June 14, 2018. Patrons and community members are also invited to attend the branch’s homecoming reception the afternoon of Saturday, June 16 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00p.m.  This reception will include entertainment and refreshments to celebrate the branch’s reopening.  

Harvard-Lee temporarily closed on April 15, 2018 for important repair work as part of Cleveland Public Library’s major capital project to revitalize its neighborhood branches. The Library embarked on this maintenance work to ensure its facilities can continue to function as safe, inclusive, and sustainable environments.  

Completed repairs to Harvard-Lee Branch include: 

  • ADA accessibility updates 
  • Restrooms 
  • Signage 
  • Drinking fountain 
  • Access ramps 
  • Moveable circulation desk 
  • Reading area lighting improvements 
  • HVAC upgrades 
  • A/C 
  • Heating 
  • Exhaust fans 
  • Water heater 
  • Reroofing 
  • Waterproofing 

While Harvard-Lee was closed, the nearby East 131st Street and Mt. Pleasant branch libraries served patrons.
