U.S. congressman The Honorable Louis Stokes (1925 – 2015) was the first African-American member of Congress from Ohio. During his thirty-year tenure, he served on a number of committees including Appropriations, Intelligence and Ethics. He was also a co-founder of the Congressional Black Caucus. Stokes was interviewed by The HistoryMakers® on February 7, 2007, and March 18, 2005, in Washington, District of Columbia. This collection is comprised of the original video footage of the interview.
