Cleveland Public Library to Host Neighborhood Events to Help Get People Vaccinated against the Virus

Cleveland Public Library is offering a dose of protection against COVID-19. In partnership with Northeast Ohio Neighborhood Health Services, Inc. (NEON), the Library will host COVID-19 vaccination clinics at select neighborhood branches.  

Clevelanders who get the shot can win bus passes, gift cards, and other prizes. Managed Plan Medicaid members aged 18 and over receiving their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will get a $100 gift card.

Glenville Branch Wednesday, August 4 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. 
Memorial-Nottingham Branch Friday, August 6 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. 
Rice Branch Monday, August 9 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. 
Harvard-Lee Branch Wednesday, August 11 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. 

No insurance? No problem. Our vaccination clinics are free and open to residents 18 and over. Registration is preferred. Call (216) 231-7700 and select option 2 to make an appointment. Please know which date and vaccination location you’d like to attend.  

Registrants should bring their photo ID and insurance information if available to their vaccination appointment. People should also wear short sleeves to their appointment. 

FAMILY FUN DAY

Prizes, games and more await Clevelanders at a family fun day at the Walz Branch of Cleveland Public Library on Wednesday, August 4 from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. In partnership with Northwest Neighborhoods and the Neighborhood Family Practice, the Walz Branch will provide free COVID-19 vaccinations for the Detroit Shoreway and Cudell communities. Residents over age 12 are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination. Those who receive a shot will be entered into a drawing to win $100. Managed Plan Medicaid members aged 18 and over will receive a $100 gift card for their first vaccine dose. The Ohio Mobile Gaming Bus will also be on site. For more information on the Walz Branch event, call (216) 623-7095. 

“Vaccination is the best prevention against COVID-19. Our efforts will ensure that everyone has access to the vaccine and is informed about the virus,” said Harriette Parks, Director of Public Services at Cleveland Public Library.  

Need a COVID-19 test? Abbott BinaxNOW Rapid, At-home, COVID-19 test kits are now available at the Main Library drive-up window. The at-home tests are made possible through the Library’s partnership with the Ohio Department of Health.
