Definition: Outreach is the act of taking services, programs, and materials out to the population, including those who may not otherwise have access to those services. In addition to directly delivering services, outreach raises the awareness of existing services.

In 2012, Cleveland Public Library became more aggressive in not only inviting the community to come through its doors and participate, but it reached beyond its traditional borders to provide services in locations where they were needed most.
