Writers & Readers Series
The long-standing Writers & Readers author series continued to draw record attendance in 2010. Five remarkable authors took the stage of the Louis Stokes Wing auditorium: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (pictured left), James Howard Kunstler, poet laureate Kay Ryan, Sapphire and Jonathan Franzen. Careful consideration was given to selecting a diverse group of authors to appeal to all ages and demographics.
The Writers & Readers author series presents the rare opportunity for all patrons to meet best-selling authors at free events. The series is generously funded through an endowment fund set up by Lockwood Thompson, who was an avid reader, art collector and trustee of Cleveland Public Library.
