This Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood branch was the ninth branch in the Cleveland Public Library system and was one of many library branches built with funds from Andrew Carnegie. In 1912 when this branch opened, the Library’s Annual Report described it as Greek inspired and constructed of buff brick with stone trimmings. The space is 8,400 square feet.
Nearby the Lorain branch, you can enjoy a park created through a partnership between the Library and the Westside Block Club. This library features a WPA mural titled Ohio City, painted by William Dolwick in 1934.
