April in Jazz Appreciation Month and we invite you to come down to explore some of our fantastic resources. We have great books on the Cleveland jazz scene, jazz legends like Miles Davis, (who, rumor has it, when invited to a White House dinner was asked by then first lady Nancy Regan what he did to merit an invitation responded with “Well, I’ve changed the course of music five or six times.”), John Coltrane, or Duke Ellington. If you’re looking to learn more about the history of the jazz music, you can do that as well.
We also have thousands of fake books, omni books, and various sheet music of jazz musicians. Everything from big band to bebop to Latin jazz to Avant garde, you can find something at the Cleveland Public Library.
