Foreign Literature Department offers interested readers an outstanding collection of international periodicals in over 30 languages. Magazines written in Russian, Serbian, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Spanish and Hindi are available for three week loan periods.
Maison Française
You show an issue of the "Maison Française" at the "Parlez-vous Magazine" article, yet, I couldn't find it in your catalogue...
Cleveland Public Library
Dear Patron,
Thank you for the inquiry. Foreign Literature periodicals are non-permanent collection materials. They are given temporary Item ID numbers to facilitate processing and patron availability. For this reason, periodicals cannot be searched online and reserved online. From our perspective, with thousands of periodicals on the shelves, it would be similiar to looking for a needle in the proverbial haystack. If you would like to have a title sent to a CPL or CLEVNET Branch, please leave a message and staff will accomodate your request based on availability.
Maison Francaise
I found it. Click the "catalog" link at the top of the page. Then enter "Maison Francaise" in the "search for" box and select "periodical title" from the "in the" drop down box to the right.
I guess without designating "periodical title" the engine will pull all the records with Maison+Francaise in them.
Not sure if the the search catalog box on this page can do the job.
Language interfaces
Is it possible to present the library web page with optional language interfaces?
Cleveland Public Library
Dear Patron,
At the present time, we are planning some new interfaces in 2008. However, this is a tentative schedule since many of the issues that need to be resolved center around CPL's current library catalog software. This issue has been discussed but at the current time more research and fesability studies will need to be completed before any new language portals can be added to the current CPL platform. If you are interested in a particular language, please let us know and we will see if the current software can support future additions.
Thank You, M.Markovic
